February Favorites

Hi ladies! Today I've got a post on the products I've been loving in February. I can't believe it's March! We all know what that means....soon we'll be getting lovely and warm weather! Hopefully anyways. Spring/Summer are always so gorgeous in London. I love going to the parks and just enjoying the weather and I can't wait to do that again this year.

Eyes:
Nothing too fancy this month, which I feel was my motto for the majority of this month with all my makeup. I did very neutral eyes and often didn't bother with a crease color.

L'oreal Telescopic Mascara: I like mascaras with thinner/smaller brushes (like this one) because of my small eyes because it makes application easier. While the brush is a bit flimsy, which I feel leads to some minor clumping, it's fine when you wiggle it about.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese: I've been using this in my inner corner to make my eyes pop. I've used it once or twice as a base, but I do prefer using my MAC Bare Study paint pot instead when going for a neutral look.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Eldorado: When I felt like adding some fun to my eye look, I'd line part of my lower lash line with this pencil, in place of a white pencil like the one above.

MAC Satin Taupe: Such a lovely color for all over the lid, and then I work it up into the crease for a really simple look.

MAC Bare Study Paint Pot: I've been using this just about every time I've worn eye makeup. I always put it on over a primer though, just to be safe. I find it adds a bit more of a pop of color to any shadow I put over it, whether it be Satin Taupe or Sin from the Naked Palette.

Lips:
Once again, I've kept it very simple this month with the lips.

MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass: I really haven't been wearing much on my lips this month, because anytime I've gone out I've been going out with the idea of stopping to grab a coffee and I haaaate when I get lipstick all over my coffee cup, haha. So instead, when I have worn color, I've just worn this lipglass because it's such a gorgeous color and it's easy enough to wipe off before I sip.

Nivea Milk & Honey Lipbalm: Been using this pretty much daily. The scent has grown on me. I'd still love for it to smell like Lush's Honey I Washed The Kids though...:D

Face:

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup in Buff and Revlon Photo Ready in Vanilla: For the majority of the month, I've been mixing these two foundations and feel it gives me such good coverage. The only con being it can feel a bit heavy, so on days when I don't feel like slapping on so much makeup, I'll only wear the Photo Ready.

Body:

It's Raining Men Shower Gel: MMMMMM is all I need to say, really. Smells amazing and leaves the skin feeling soft. The scent lingers on your skin once you leave the shower as well, which I love in a shower gel.

The Body Shop Love Etc Perfume: I've been favoring this over my DKNY perfume. I can't help it, it just smells sooooo nice. I really do need to get the full size at some point...

What were some of your favorites this month?

*I have a nail polish in the first photo, but then I realized it was one I actually used in January, not February, so I didn't end up including it in the rest of the post. Thanks to my lovely sister for pointing that out!

January Favorites

Hi ladies! Today I've got my January favorites. There's quite a lot, largely because I never did a December one, and because there's so many things I've found over these past two months that I'm quite happy with and want to share with you!

Eye Products:
I've been using a variety of eyeshadows this month, but the ones I've been most impressed with are the Beauty Rush Luminous Shadows from Victoria's Secret. They're such pretty colors, very pigmented, and I got them for an amazing clearance price! I guess I was just a bit shocked that I liked them so much, because I never thought highly of VS and their cosmetics, but now my mind has changed. Also, I've been loving MAC's All That Glitters, it's a lovely everyday color, great for the lid.

I've also been using Benefit's Stay Don't Stray as my everyday primer for my eyeshadow and I love it. Reminds me a lot of UDPP in Eden, but kind of better!

Swatches:
Lip Products:
LIP BALM! Especially the ones I got from The Morbid The Merrier. I swear, they're the most moisturizing lip balms I've ever used and they smell amazing. Pictured I have Spiced Pear and Caramel Apple, my favorites from the bunch I bought. I also used quite a bit of my L'Oreal Lip Conditioner for when I wanted something a bit glossier on my lips.

I've also been loving my MAC lipsticks in Snob and Myth, BUT, with a pink lipgloss over Myth! I'm not brave enough to wear it by itself, but I do love wearing it with a pop of color over it, specifically my NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Salsa.

Swatches:
Face Products:
Back in December, I purchased my first liquid foundation and I was quite lucky it was one I turned out to love. I just feel like it covers really well and the color matches me very well too. I received the L'Oreal primer for Christmas and love that as well. It smoothes my skin out sooo well and minimizes the appearance of my pores, which makes a great base for my foundation. Shockingly, I also love using my 17 Hide Away concealer for under my eyes. I initially hated it, because I had bought it with the intention of using it on my blemishes, but when I finally used it a couple weeks ago under my eyes, I was quite impressed with the results. Finally, I've been using my Dandelion blusher for that nice flushed cheek.
Opps, forgot to include this one in the photo above, but I've rediscovered my love for my Rimmel Stay Matte powder. It keeps me oil free for just as long as my Bare Minerals, but is far less expensive. So I reckon when I run out of my Bare Minerals, I won't repurchase. =O

Brushes:
My ELF Studio Powder Brush is great for applying powder, but I've recently started using it for my foundation and love the finish it provides. Finally, I love my Kat Von D eye brush set. The pouch keeps them safe from dust, and the quality of the brushes it really up there! It's all I use for my eye makeup now.

Fragrances:
When I first smelled DKNY Be Delicious, it wasn't what I expected, I expected something a bit more obviously apple smelling, but this has really grown on me. It's a feminine yet sophisticated apple scent and I realllly want to get the pink one because I smelled it in store a lil while ago and it smells so good. Also, my boyfriend's sister got me a gift set of Boots Natural Collection body sprays, and this one has been my favorite from the bunch. Can't really explain the scent, it just smells fresh! I like spraying it on after a shower.

Misc:
I've been using these Shine Erasers every day when I'm not wearing makeup, because my face will get quite oily. They absorb oil pretty well, but they're not the BEST I've ever used, but they are the cheapest priced. AND FINALLY, my Fresh Market Apple hand sanitizer. Almost done with the bottle, and I love using it after eating out or after being on the tube, cos we all know it gets a bit icky.

That's it! Share any of the same faves as me?

Best of 2010: Lips

Hiii ladies! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend. Tonight I've got a post on my favorite lip products of 2010, including lipsticks, a lipgloss, and a lipbalm. Enjoy!

Pink Lipsticks:
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout: Gorgeous creamy matte blue based pink!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Pink Please: A more muted pink lipstick, perfect for a subtle lip.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush: A lovely bright pink color!
Swatches:
I'm sure none of those were a shocker! In the beauty world, these pinks are the HG of some.

Neutral Colors:

e.l.f Mineral Lipstick in Nicely Nude: A gooorgeous color that's basically my lips but better.

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Rose Petal: A lovely pinky nude color.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Nude Lustre: The only lipgloss I picked for this year, largely because I didn't wear lipgloss that much, but when I did, it was usually this! I really liked wearing it over the Rose Petal color above.
Vaseline Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butter: As you can see from the dent I've made, this was my favorite lipbalm of the year! Smells lovely and leaves your lips feeling nice and moisturized.
Swatches:
That's it! Share any of the same favorites as me? I'm off to take a nice LUSH bath and then try and finish this dissertation that's due next week, I'm almost there!

Best of 2010: Eyes

Hi ladies! These are a bit late, but I decided to do my Best of 2010 products, starting with eye products. Now, I was unsure whether I wanted to do this series or not, because I started using makeup pretty late in the year, about halfway through, but either way, I did have some favorites from this year so I wanted to share them anyways. After Christmas and the influx of new makeup, I have many new favorites, but those shall be featured at the end of the month! But these posts will just have the products I reached for the most in the year 2010. Anyways, here we go:

Eyeshadow:
I'm pretty sure everyone has been putting the Naked Palette in their favorites of 2010, but that's just because it really is that great! I'm not going to bother going on about it much more than that because you've heard it all. Otherwise, when I felt like going for a colorful eye, I really liked using the greens in my Sleek Original palette.
Swatches:
I used the middle color on my inner lid, the green on the outer half of the lid, and then the brown color in the crease! I collected many Sleek palettes this year, but just didn't reach for them much. They are amazing quality for the price though and I recommend all of them.

Mascara:
Maybelline Lash Stiletto in Black and Maybelline Define A Lash Volume in Very Black were the mascaras I reached for the most this year, largely because they were the first two mascaras I purchased when first getting into makeup this year. The Define A Lash is good for when I want to just...well, define my lashes and add a bit of volume, and I used Lash Stiletto when I wanted something a bit more dramatic.

Primers:
These were my favorite primers of the year. I was quite shocked that the e.l.f primer worked just as well as the UDPP.

When swiping a makeup remover wipe over them:
The UDPP in Eden held up the best, probably because it's a bit thicker and stickier than the other two.

Eyeliner:
My favorite eyeliner of the year was definitely the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero, I love it for my waterline.

A bit on the boring side, but those were my favorite eye products of 2010! Thoughts?

November Favorites

My favorites this month are quite boring, sadly. It's a lot of things that have been in my favorites in the past. My everyday look has typically been a neutral eye, a bit of mascara and eyeliner, a bit of pink blush, and a pink lip. I find that it's a look that is most flattering on me, and I enjoy it quite a bit! Also, a lot of times I've been getting distracted and needing to rush to do my makeup, so I'll skip lipstick or something. I've been trying to experiment with more of my makeup, but alas, these are the things I've used the most and gone back to again and again. Anyways, here are the products I've been using this month!

Eyes:

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero, 17 Wild Curls Mascara in Wildest Black, and Urban Decay Naked Palette.

I absolutely love using sin on my lid and virgin as a highlight, I just feel like it brightens my eyes immensely! Boring but true, hehe. The 24/7 liner is one of the best eyeliners I've come across. It lasts ages on the waterline, is creamy and I love it. I'm sad it's almost out, because I'm not looking forward to shelling out the cash for a full size. Anyone have any good recommendations for a cheaper one?

Swatches:

I was using this loads more at the beginning of the month, but then the comb started to annoy me and felt too big, so I went back to using my Maybelline mascaras. So maybe it shouldn't be in here? Haha, nah, it did make my lashes look lovely, but it got to the point where it just felt too big for my eyes and was catching on my other lashes and making me go OW! Haha.

Lips:

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush:

When I did wear lipstick, this was the lipstick I was constantly wearing. It's GORGEOUS. I really do love it.

NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Salsa:

At the end of the month I started layering this over the Rimmel lipstick and absolutely loved them together. I haven't given this lip gloss enough use, which is crazy, since all I usually wear is pink lipsticks and this goes perfectly with them!

Swatches:
Vaseline Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butter:

YES, again. I've been applying this just about every day, and when I couldn't be bothered with lipstick, I just wore this. Feels lovely on the lips. My poor boyfriend was even using it for a bit, when his lips became quite chapped.

Face:

No.7 Natural Blush in Candy Pink and e.l.f Studio Blusher in Gotta Glow

I think the No.7 blush might be my favorite blush. It goes so well with a neutral eye and pink lip. And it's nice and matte.

Last month I had gotten lazy with highlighting, but this month I've been using the e.l.f one quite a bit. I feel it brightens up the look just that lil bit more!

Swatches:

What are your favorites for the month? Any of the ones I mentioned? Hope everyone is enjoying the snow. London finally got some, but not much, and it doesn't seem to be sticking! Ah well.
