Lush Space Girl Review

Space Girl Bath Bomb: 1.90 pounds

What Lush Say:
"Here comes a ballistic of astronomical proportions. We were inspired by The Imagined Village's intriguing interpretation of Space Girl from their second album, Empire & Love. It's shaped like Saturn with added space dust for our alien friends, and the refreshing scent of blackcurrant sweeties will make you hungry for your own space adventures. Space Girl is stellar, just remember your blaster and your freezer gun."

What I Say:
I liked this bath bomb for the "show" that it put on for me. It exploded into a purple gray cloud and had wisps of fuchsia and blue throughout it. There was even a bit of crackling, but if you didn't know it was supposed to crackle, you probably wouldn't of even noticed it, to be perfectly honest. Once I got into the bath, I enjoyed the scent and liked the fact that it stuck around for the duration of the bath instead of melting away with the bath bomb, which I've noticed happen with some bath bombs in the past. The glitter was pretty, but not something I much care for in a bath. I suppose I was just wondering if it was safe for glitter to be anywhere near my lady bits, LOL, but sorry, that's probably me being paranoid. I didn't feel exceptionally smooth once I left the bath, but overall, I liked this bath bomb and would consider repurchasing it.
Ohhhh prettttty, ooooh, aaaah. ;)
Has anyone used Space Girl before? What did you think? Was it....out of this world? -giggles- Ahem....

February Favorites

Hi ladies! Today I've got a post on the products I've been loving in February. I can't believe it's March! We all know what that means....soon we'll be getting lovely and warm weather! Hopefully anyways. Spring/Summer are always so gorgeous in London. I love going to the parks and just enjoying the weather and I can't wait to do that again this year.

Eyes:
Nothing too fancy this month, which I feel was my motto for the majority of this month with all my makeup. I did very neutral eyes and often didn't bother with a crease color.

L'oreal Telescopic Mascara: I like mascaras with thinner/smaller brushes (like this one) because of my small eyes because it makes application easier. While the brush is a bit flimsy, which I feel leads to some minor clumping, it's fine when you wiggle it about.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese: I've been using this in my inner corner to make my eyes pop. I've used it once or twice as a base, but I do prefer using my MAC Bare Study paint pot instead when going for a neutral look.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Eldorado: When I felt like adding some fun to my eye look, I'd line part of my lower lash line with this pencil, in place of a white pencil like the one above.

MAC Satin Taupe: Such a lovely color for all over the lid, and then I work it up into the crease for a really simple look.

MAC Bare Study Paint Pot: I've been using this just about every time I've worn eye makeup. I always put it on over a primer though, just to be safe. I find it adds a bit more of a pop of color to any shadow I put over it, whether it be Satin Taupe or Sin from the Naked Palette.

Lips:
Once again, I've kept it very simple this month with the lips.

MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipglass: I really haven't been wearing much on my lips this month, because anytime I've gone out I've been going out with the idea of stopping to grab a coffee and I haaaate when I get lipstick all over my coffee cup, haha. So instead, when I have worn color, I've just worn this lipglass because it's such a gorgeous color and it's easy enough to wipe off before I sip.

Nivea Milk & Honey Lipbalm: Been using this pretty much daily. The scent has grown on me. I'd still love for it to smell like Lush's Honey I Washed The Kids though...:D

Face:

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup in Buff and Revlon Photo Ready in Vanilla: For the majority of the month, I've been mixing these two foundations and feel it gives me such good coverage. The only con being it can feel a bit heavy, so on days when I don't feel like slapping on so much makeup, I'll only wear the Photo Ready.

Body:

It's Raining Men Shower Gel: MMMMMM is all I need to say, really. Smells amazing and leaves the skin feeling soft. The scent lingers on your skin once you leave the shower as well, which I love in a shower gel.

The Body Shop Love Etc Perfume: I've been favoring this over my DKNY perfume. I can't help it, it just smells sooooo nice. I really do need to get the full size at some point...

What were some of your favorites this month?

*I have a nail polish in the first photo, but then I realized it was one I actually used in January, not February, so I didn't end up including it in the rest of the post. Thanks to my lovely sister for pointing that out!

Lush Haul

Hi ladies! The other day I went online and saw the Lush website was back up. Or what they're calling a temporary website, because apparently a new one will be up using PayPal or something, I'm not sure! I know I should of been weary about ordering so quickly after having to cancel my card over their hacking, but hey, I can't stay bitter for long! Especially when I love their products. Anyways, their payment method is far more secure now. You're directed to an outside banking website so your details aren't actually saved onto the Lush website. On to what I got:

Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar: 2.30 pounds
Aww, isn't he cute!? Smells lovely like strawberries n cream. I've never been let down by a Lush bubble bar, they always create sooo many lovely bubbles, so I'm sure I'll love this one too.

Happy Blooming Bath Melt: 3.70 pounds
One of the bath melts I've heard the most about, so I decided to grab it. It smells SOOOO good, like cherries. It's certainly the most dominant smell out of the order, because anytime I go out into the living room, where the box of my Lush goodies are, it's all I can smell, but that's certainly not a bad thing. You get three uses out of it as you can obviously see cos it's split into 3 chunks. Bath melts just make your bath really creamy which then leaves your skin really nice and soft.

The Ex Factor Bath Bomb: 1.99 pounds
I just thought this looked adorable so I had to pick it up. Plus, a blue bath!? Count me in. :D This just smells like vanilla, mmmm.

Tea Tree Toner Tab: 0.99 pounds
I wanted to try something else from Lush, besides just their bath stuff. I almost got a solid shampoo, but decided I didn't reaaaally need one, so I tried something from their skincare range instead. It had good reviews and I know tea tree is good for acne, so I figured I'd give it a shot. It just smells like you'd expect, tea tree, and is rather small, but I'm excited to try it. I'm still a little unsure as to how you use it, so I'll need to research into that.

Cinders Bath Bomb: 1.95 pounds
Leftover from their Christmas range, Cinders smells amaaazing. Like cinnamon and all things lovely and spicy. Apparently it crackles when you throw it in!

So White Bath Bomb: 1.80 pounds
Also leftover from their Christmas range, this bath bomb was described as having an apple scent, so I grabbed it. It's not your typical apple scent, it has a bit of an odd scent along with the apple scent, but I'm sure once it gets dropped into the bath it'll be fine.

Well that's it! I'll be reviewing these products as I use them. What's your favorite item from Lush? Give me some recommendations! :D

Covent Garden Haul

Hi ladies! Today I've got my haul from Covent Garden, when me and my friend, fellow beauty blogger, Ava, went shopping. We had a lovely catch up and did some shopping. =)

First up, because I was early, FOR ONCE, haha, I went into The Body Shop while waiting for Ava to arrive:
I picked up two bars of soap, Strawberry and Shea, because they both smelled yummy and were only 2 pounds each. I also grabbed the Love Etc solid perfume for 5 pounds because I think the Love Etc scent is AMAZING, but I didn't feel like shelling out the 15-20 pounds for one of the perfumes. But thankfully when I checked out I received a free sample of the perfume! I may have to eventually give in...

Then when Ava arrived, we went to the market area and found this sweet lady selling gorgeous jewelry and even though I haven't been wearing much jewelry lately, I couldn't help but pick up one of the bracelets because they were only 5 pounds and soo pretty:

The next bit I'm so excited about!! We were wondering about where to go next, so I was like "There's not a Lush around, is there?" and while Ava stood thinking to herself, she all of a sudden looked up and was like "Look!" and there was a Lush right in front of us, HAHA. I got very giddy because I'd never been in one before and really wanted the It's Raining Men shower gel. While the shop was a bit tiny/cramped, the workers were amazing and very fun and helpful:
I got the It's Raining Men shower gel, the medium size, for 7.95, the Butterball bath bomb for 2.30, the Space Girl bath bomb for 1.90, and the Comforter bubble bar for 3.99. I'd just run out of Lush goodies so I was so excited to stock up a little bit. I didn't go as crazy as I would of liked to, but hey, I'm not made of money! ;) Also, because it was a relatively small store, there wasn't THAT many bath bombs or bubble bars, or else maybe I'd of been in real trouble, hehe.

FINALLY, we walked past a store called Space NK, which I've heard of before but never went into, and I saw they sold Nars, and I've been dying to purchase my first Nars product, so we went in and I was drawn towards this gorgeous eyeshadow:
Strada: It's this gorgeous purple with gold sparkles. It was 16.50, so rather pricey, but it really is such a unique color or else I wouldn't of bought it!
Swatch:
Well that's it! We also went into MAC and we swatched the Mega Metal shadows from the Peacocky collection and I really wanted Prance but held back because I want to purchase some goodies from the Wonder Woman collection. Oh dear me, anyways, what have you bought lately?

Lush Honey Bee & Honey I Washed The Kids Reviews

Hi ladies! Today I've got a review on two items from Lush that I've recently used up, both featuring the yummy ingredient honey!

Lush Honey Bee Bath Bomb:
Aww, it looks like a wil bumble bee!
What Lush says:

For a soothing and cleansing soak.

Honey Bee smells like caramel, much like the Honey, I Washed The Kids soap and Soft Coeur massage bar do. Honey Bee holds its own special distinction, though; in addition to soothing honey, it has Moroccan rhassoul mud to clean and soften your skin.

What Lauren Says:

While I had high hopes for this product, because I absolutely love the scent of Honey I Washed The Kids soap (see review below!), I was a bit let down by this product. When I first put it in, I had my childish moment of "Oooh look at it fizz, ooh it smells lovely!" but then when I actually got into the bath (which, might I add, looked like somebody took a wee in it and had lil grainy bits at the bottom from the bomb), I was like, where's the smell gone? The scent had completely disappeared! So for me to use this again, I reckon I'd need two, or just need to use it with some Honey I Washed The Kids soap.

Honey I Washed The Kids Soap:

I love the strip of honey comb at the top! So cute.
What Lush Says:

The irresistible toffee and honey. Once you've unwrapped this mouth-watering toffee scented soap, you'll immediately want to wash yourself all over with it - and then wash your honey, and then the kids and maybe even gran if she's lucky.

What Lauren Says:

It took me awhile to come around to this soap, at first I thought it smelled too sweet, but oh boy did it grow on me! So much that I kept using it till the very end, making sure not to waste even the tiniest sliver that was left, tehe. It just feels lovely on the skin, leaves you feeling clean, and smells simply amazing. I need to pick up another one of these, it's definitely my favorite item from Lush. The Valentine's Day range has a new shower gel out with the same scent apparently, and I must find a way to get my hands on it....even though their website is down and there's no store nearby.

What are your thoughts? Do you enjoy the Honey themed items from Lush as much as I do?

Lush Hacked??

Uhmmm, did anyone else get an email about Lush being hacked? I made an order months ago, but they're saying anyone who made an online order from October 4th-January 20th should call their banks "as your card details may of been compromised." What's that mean!? As far as I can see, my account is fine, but I don't know what good calling my bank will do. Anyone else affected???

Lush Candy Cane Bubble Bar Review

Hiii ladies! As I mentioned in my Christmas haul post, I received some Lush goodies from my sis...or parents, lol, I can't remember which was from who because my sister did the hard work of buying everything, but my parents gave her the money! So anyways, today I've got a review on one of them, the Candy Cane bubble bar:
Unfortunately, I can't find anything on the Lush website about the Candy Cane bubble bar, because d'oh, they're obviously no longer selling them! But anyways, I'll just give you my own thoughts on the bubble bar.
While it's adorable and pink (aww how puuurdy does it look!?) it's certainly not my favorite from the Christmas range. Because A. It doesn't smell like a candy cane and B. I don't know what it actually does smell like. It's a really sweet candy like smell, but I was expecting something more minty because...well...the name. Silly me! I'm not particularly fond of the smell, but at the same time it's not bad enough for me to throw out the remaining half. But if you hate sickly sweet scents, stray away from this one!
Once again, just half of the bar is more than enough to give you lovely bubbles, so I can't fault it on that!

What are your thoughts on this product? Were you expecting something a bit more minty?

Lush Bearded Lady Bubble Bar Review

Bearded Lady Bubble Bar: 2.50 pounds

Hi ladies! Today I've got a review on Lush's Bearded Lady Bubble Bar. This was the only one that put me off a bit when I first smelled it, but when I went to sniff it before I put it in the bath, it actually smelled really nice. So who knows! Anyways, let's get into it, shall we? ;)

What They Say:
"Our homage to all things hairy combines avocado and oat milk for gentle, softening, milky bubbles." (the avocado might of been what was putting me off at first, seeing as I can't stand the stuff! Lol.)

Basically, this bubble bar is supposed to be really good for leaving you with silky soft skin! And I must agree it did. I only used half and had a HUGGGE amount of bubbles. I didn't take a photo since the water was just a normal color (it went red for a few seconds but the white color overpowered it) but let me assure you, a massive amount of bubbles. And they lasted forrrever. I can't explain the scent, but it was pleasant, and almost soothing. When I left the bath I didn't feel like I smelled of anything in particular, so I don't feel like the scent stuck to me, BUT, my skin did feel very lovely and soft.

If you're looking for something to tackle the battle against dry winter skin, I'd recommend this for sure!

Has anyone else used this? Your thoughts?

I'm thinking of doing a post soon on the makeup I packed for traveling. I know I was going to do it when I got home to the US, but that's when I expected to be home Saturday! Tehe. We'll see though. =)

Lush Gingerbread House Bubble Bar Review

Hi ladies! Today I've got a review on Lush's Gingerbread House Bubble Bar. =)

What They Say: "Christmas is a confectioner's dream, especially with our Gingerbread House Bubble Bar. It is sweetly spiced like fresh gingerbread and there's no wicked witch in sight, nor any sign of Hansel or Gretel eating her out of house and home."

"Its fragrance is a combination of distilled citrus oils, hints of blackcurrant and a spicy shot of ginger. Powdered ginger will warm your entire body as you soak, so there's no chance of Jack getting his frosty digits on you for long!"

Cost: 2.45 pounds per 100 grams.

This smells like exactly what the name says, a Gingerbread House! I only used half of it and look at all the bubbles I got! It probably didn't hurt that I actually used it under hot running water this time, instead of just crumbling it into an already full bath, LOL.
The bath looks more orange in this photo than it really was. It made the bath smell lovely (it wasn't an overwhelming scent though, I found it to be really subtle, but maybe that's because I only used half, not sure), it created LOADS of bubbles, and it turned the bath water a very light orange. I'd compare it to the color of ginger ale or apple juice? Anyways, I really enjoyed this product, and can't wait to use my other half! I recommend this to anyone who loves the scent of ginger. It makes for a perfectly festive bath!

Has anyone else used this product before? Thoughts?

Lush Christmas Kisses Bubble Bar Review

Christmas Kisses Bubble Bar: 2.80 pounds
What they say: "Put the heat back into your kisses, whip up a frenzy of foam with your spicy Bubble Bar. The scents of lime and sweet wild oranges instantly uplift, and the zingy aroma cinnamon leaf and clove leaf oils will wrap you in a warm embrace. When you feel left out in the cold, spice things up with some Christmas Kisses."

First of all, I have to say I love the scent of this product. The main scent I get off of it is cinnamon, which definitely makes you feel nice and warm in the bath. Sadly, I crumbled mine up and put it in AFTER the bath had filled up. Whereas afterwards I looked up what everyone else does (a bit late eh?) and it turns out you're meant to crumble it up under the hot tap while the bath is filling up. Ah dur. I used the whole bar, but perhaps I could of gotten away with using half. It turned the bath BRIGHT red, which I thought was really fun and festive. The scent definitely sticks to your skin and I couldn't stop smelling myself afterwards.

The water!:
This product definitely gets a big thumbs up from me! Sadly I couldn't stay in the bath as long as I wanted (we'd used up a lot of hot water that day and didn't have much left, so the bath got cold rather quickly), but I do recommend this to anyone who loves the warm spicy scent of cinnamon!

Has anyone used this one before? What was your experience like? AND what's your favorite Lush product?

FIRST EVER Lush Haul!!!

Now, there's no way you participate in the beauty blogger world and not hear about Lush. I've been dying to try something from them for agggges now, and since I just recently got paid, and their Christmas collection is out, I figured I'd grab a few things! Only 4 things, sadly, but I reckon I've become a fan for life.

FIRST OF ALL, shipping time was amazing. I ordered late Tuesday night (so it was actually Wednesday morning) and got my package this morning, Thursday! I wasn't expecting it to be that quick at all. The package was also FULL with packing peanuts so everything was nice and comfy and nothing broke. Unfortunately, shipping is based off of weight, so the more you get, the more you pay. So next time I'd be more tempted to actually go to one of the shops.

Anyways, here's what I got:

Gingerbread House Bubble Bar: 2.45 pounds
One of my favorite Christmas scents has to be gingerbread, so this was on the top of my wish list. This looks and smells good enough to eat. I'm serious...there's SPRINKLES in it, they're just begging me to have a bite. Kidding, kidding. This smells soooo lovely and spicy. And since the weather here in London has gotten quite cold and there's news of snow, I can't wait to use this!!

Christmas Kisses Bubble Bar: 2.80 pounds
This one didn't come in one of the yellow baggies, so this is the scent that wafted up to me when I opened the box. Mmmmmmmmmm. It has a lovely cinnamon scent and I'm sure it will also warm me up in the bath on these cold winter nights.

Bearded Lady Bubble Bar: 2.50 pounds
How cute does she look!? Lol. I must say, there is something a bit off-putting about the smell of this one, BUT, in a review I found, someone said the same thing, but that once it was in the bath it smelled lovely and spicy, so my hopes are still high!

Honey I Washed The Kids Soap: 2.95 pounds
This isn't from the Christmas line, but it's one of those products I've been wanting to try ever since one of the Fowler sisters raved about it. Yes, I'm guilty of watching their videos, LOL. It's described as "the irresistible toffee and honey one" which just sounds so yummy. I can't wait to use it in the shower.

Glade Spiced Apple Candles: 1.50 each
And finally, this isn't from Lush, I picked these up from Tesco, for only 1.50 each! They're such a good deal I thought I'd point them out. They smell sooo nice and I'm going to be burning them at my boyfriend's and mine's Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. I don't believe Tesco is still doing the 1.50 deal, but I saw them in the Co-Op for only 1.50.

That's all! As I use the bubble bars and soap, I will be doing individual reviews on them. Have a lovely night everyone, and wrap up, it's freezing out there!!
