NOTD: China Glaze For Audrey

When I did my last China Glaze haul, I knew I had to get the much raved about For Audrey, which was created with the Tiffany Box Blue in mind. It's turning up far more green in these photos than it is in real life, but it's definitely a gorgeous blue green that's well suited for Spring.
It went completely opaque in 2 coats, but if you're less picky than me, 1 coat would of done. I used Maybelline's Forever Strong Base Coat underneath.

What do you think? Do you think it deserves all the hype it gets?

NOTD: China Glaze Sea Spray

How gorgeous is this color!? It's definitely one of my new favorites, especially for Spring time. It's a nice change from the typical pastel pinks, purples, and blues that we often see for Spring. It's like a blue gray and I just think it's gorgeous. It's probably looking a bit more blue than gray in these photos, but I promise you, there's gray in there! :D
I used 2 coats, but it was pretty opaque after 1.

Collective Haul: Boots, China Glaze, and Clinique.

Hi ladies! ANOTHER collective haul post. I know, I'm terrible. ;) I plan on trying to watch my spending now, but who knows! I also plan on trying to find a job for the weekends, since at the moment I only work a couple hours during the week. Anyways, onto what I got:

Eighty Eight Beauty Supply: http://www.8ty8beauty.com/
I've heard about this website from a few YouTube guru's and figured I couldn't say no to China Glaze nail polish for $2.88 each! It is an American company so shipping to the UK was expensive ($16), but when everything is converted into pounds, it only cost about 19 pounds for FIVE China Glaze nail polishes, including shipping, which I believe is a very good deal. The only thing about the website is that when you order, you don't get an exact shipping amount, but get sent an invoice a couple days later. So essentially, you need to order and give your details before even knowing exactly what you're paying, which can be a bit of a con in my eyes, but when I googled shipping prices, they seemed pretty reasonable so I went for it. But other than that, once the nail polishes shipped, I had them rather quickly.

No Flash:
Flyin' High, For Audrey, Sea Spray, Frosty, and Innocence.

With Flash:
How pretty do they all look!? Perfect Spring colors, if you ask me.

Boots:
It was 3 for 2 on Maybelline products (although in the end the cashier forgot to give me the discount, sighs) and a lot of my mascaras have hit the 3-4 month period when you're supposed to throw them out, so I decided to pick up some mascara. Also, I've been needing a base coat for awhile now, and Maybelline had one on sale, so I grabbed it.
Maybelline The Falsies: 8.19, Maybelline One By One: 6.49 (sale), and Maybelline Forever Strong Pro base coat: 3.09 (sale).

Maybelline The Falsies brush:
I had to pick up this mascara because it's a favorite of soo many bloggers and YouTubers. I've only used it once, so I can't say anything yet, but I'll try and review it in a later post.

Maybelline One By One brush:
The newest mascara from Maybelline, and since it's on an introductory price, I figured I'd grab it. I've used this one twice, and again, really can't give my full thoughts yet and will review it at a later time. But so far so good!

No7 Beautifully Balanced Purifying Toner for oily/combination skin: 3.50ish with 5 pound off voucher:
I've run out of toner and decided to try a new one, specifically this one because I had a 5 pound off voucher and because I liked the packaging. It has a pump! It was only 3.50 which I think is a great deal for a toner.

Glamour Magazine:
As I'm sure you all know, Glamour magazine are currently giving out a range of Clinique samples with a purchase of their magazine for only 2 pounds. Nothing really stood out to me other than the moisturizer and the lipgloss. I've heard loads of raves about this moisturizer, but unfortunately I'm only realizing now that it's for dry skin and it's far too greasy/oily for my skin type. As for the Long Last Glosswear with SPF 15 in Air Kiss, it's sheer and sticky, but not so sticky as to annoy me, but in the end, it's nothing special and I'd never purchase a full size of it.

On the lips:

Boots:
And FINALLY, I made an order on the Boots website for the Vichy foundation. Lisa Eldridge used it in her Acne Covering YouTube video as a spot concealer, and it convinced me to try it for myself. I have some acne scars that just aren't covered by my concealer/foundation. I'm not sure if I'm going to use this as a concealer or as an all over foundation as it's meant to be used, but I'll test it out and review it for you and use it in a FOTD very soon.

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation in 15 Opal: 14.30 pounds
Well that's it! What have some of your recent buys been?

NOTD's: Confetti Masquerade Ball & China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald

Hi ladies! Tonight I've got two NOTD posts because I never got around to putting up one of them a couple days ago, so I just figured I'd condense the two. =)

Confetti Masquerade Ball:
A really pretty dark red color. I like to call it a "big girl" color, hehe. While I love the color, and it was opaque within two coats, I felt like it just looked dull the next day. I assume that's something to do with the $1.99 price tag.

China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald:
One of the colors I got for Christmas. A gorgeous dark emerald that almost has a hint of blue to it. Lovely color, but it doesn't make me swoon every time I look at my nails. I know, I'm so demanding with my nail polishes, I expect so much! ;)

NOTD: China Glaze Jitterbug

Hi ladies! Tonight I've got a NOTD featuring China Glaze's Jitterbug. I initially planned on using this on my nails for New Years Eve, but then I never got around to it. But I figured it's still close enough to NYE so why not!
I used three coats and I'd explain it as a gorgeous shimmery gun metal color.

What do you think?

NOTD: Christmas Nails

I did this nail look a little while ago, but it's the look I did for the holiday parties with my boyfriend and his family.
Sorry I didn't photograph the nail polishes I used! But the green I used is China Glaze's Jolly Holly, the red is Ciate's Dangerous Affair, and the glitter is e.l.f's Glitter Glam. I used two coats of the red and green and one coat of the glitter.
I wasn't crazy about the overall look because e.l.f's Glitter Glam isn't really designed to be a top coat, not in my eyes anyways. It's too thick and opaque, so that if you apply it too heavy handedly, you end up not being able to see the color underneath. But anyways, it looked pretty enough and reminded me of Christmas ornaments!

What do you guys think? I'm thinking of painting my nails in a couple minutes. I'm thinking Jolly Holly with Party Hearty over the top. Christmas may technically be over, but it isn't for me! Hehe.

NOTD: Festive Nails

I finally got to use China Glaze Party Hearty today! I used it over e.l.f's Moonlight nail polish. I had to use a good 4 coats of it for it to be completely opaque but I figured just as much.
I love it! I think it's so pretty and festive. Perhaps a bit LOUD but hey, Christmas is next week and I want my nails to have SPIRIT. Hehe.

My flight back to America is tomorrow! I'm all packed (I'll have a post on "What's in my makeup bag?" or something like that when I get home, to show you what I narrowed my collection down to in order to pack light) and just praying the snow doesn't go too insane that my flight gets cancelled. Has anyone else used this color recently??

China Glaze Holiday 2010

Hey ladies! Just a quick post today showing you my China Glaze (first ever!) polishes that finally came today. I picked up Party Hearty and Jolly Holly. I'm sure you've seen loads of swatches on these already, but here are mine:
(yes, on a bit of tissue paper, tehe, but I didn't want to wipe off my latest manicure yet...even though I'm hugely tempted since I have these now!)

These colors are absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to wear them. I first plan on using Party Hearty over e.l.f's Moonlight, since it's the closest I have to a white and Party Hearty looks ahhmazing over a white. Then after that I'll probably wear Party Hearty over Jolly Holly. Then finally, if time permits, I'll wear Party Hearty over a red...or maybe just e.l.f's Glitter Glam over a red. Isn't it pathetic I have these all planned out?! Yayyy I love Christmas manicures! :D

What are your plans for holiday manicures? Do any of them involve these colors? Do tell! Also, I go home next week for the holidays. I can't wait, I'll miss my boo but I'm so excited to see my family and spend the holidays with them. I'll be home for three weeks, but shall still be blogging, so no worries. ;) What are your plans for the holidays?

Lots of love! xxx
