Last Minute "Back to London" Shopping.

I did some last minute shopping with my mum the other day before I go back to London on Tuesday for the upcoming AND FINAL year of university. Tehe. I already showed what I got from Ulta but I figured I'd show the rest of the stuff too, even though it's not much. =)

Bath & Body Works:

I wanted some new body spray, and it was buy 2 get 1 free sooo of course I had to get 3 things. :D I got two body sprays, one in Berry Vanilla and one in Cucumber Melon. I've always loved the Cucumber Melon scent but I haven't used it in ages, and the Berry Vanilla just smelled really yummy. Then I got the Sweet Pea bubble bath cos I love Sweet Pea and already have the spray, so I wanted something different! Can't wait to use it. =)

Proactiv:

As I mentioned in my July favorites post, the only product I really like from the Proactiv range is their mask so I picked some up while in the mall cos mine is just about out. My mum asked if they had a bigger size, and the lady said no, but gave us one of the smaller sizes for free, cos apparently it's the free gift with the 3 step kit but everyone turns it down so she had loads of extras. So that was cool! Free stuff is always a bonus.

Macy's:

I FINALLY got a pair of flats. I know, I'm a 20 year old female and I've never owned a pair of flats. I kind of fail sometimes. But anyways, here they are! It took me ages to find a pair that fit properly and were comfy. I HATE buying shoes cos I have rly weird feet so it's always impossible to find shoes. Not sure what's wrong with them, lmao. I was in between an 8 and a 8 and a half, so the lady gave me some heel inserts so the back doesn't flip up so much. They had sooo many cute flats, this wasn't my first pick, BUT, they did fit the best. While I was there I also found a really nice pair of black jeans, the ones I'm wearing in the previous post. Both my friends complimented them, so that must mean they're a deffo win! :D

Trip to Boston: EOTD & OOTD.

So the other day, I went into Boston with one of my friend's to visit my other friend and see her new apartment for the school year. I figured I'd make myself look puuurty for her and this is what I wore on my eyes and bodyyy. =)

EOTD:
Products Used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Mascara in Very Black
Bourjois Khol & Contour eyeliner in Ultra Black on waterline
Bourjois eyeshadow in Brun Irreel above crease
Kat Von D "Missy" as highlight/right under brow bone
NYX Eyeshadow in Luxor on the lid
Maybelline Silk Glam by Eye Studio in Purple Drama (crease color) on the crease
Kat Von D "Cholita" as liner, but you can't really see, haha.

wow, that looks like a lot more than it really was, LOL.

OOTD:

Cardigan: Marshalls

Top: Forever 21

Jeans: Macy's

Ulta Haul

So I went out for some final shopping with my mummy today, and our last stop was Ulta. I've never been before and it was kind of like heaven, HAHAH, just kidding..kind of. I went in there knowing I wanted some NYX cosmetics (which were buy 2 get 1 free) and Batiste dry shampoo and a new mascara (cos the one I stole from my sis is god only knows how old, haha). And that's exactly what I got! No more, no less.

NYX Cosmetics:

I got 2 eyeshadows and a lipgloss. I had wanted to get some of the lipsticks, cos on the site I saw some really pretty colors but uhhh, LOL, clearly people thought it was okay to just chew on the lipsticks or something cos they were all in quite a state. So I grabbed a lipgloss instead. I also grabbed two eyeshadows that I thought were interesting colors.

(I used e.l.f eyelid primer when swatching)

Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Salsa: A baby pink with sparkles.

Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Mascara in Very Black

Now I'm not quite sure why I picked this one out. Not gonna lie, I think it might be because it's pink? Lol. And I guess I can't really give a good review, since I don't normally use mascara, other than when I do looks for the blog, cos it helps get rid of the fallout that gets on my lashes from the eyeshadow. I'm pretty happy with my lashes the way they are, so I've never bothered otherwise, that and I always felt like my lashes would hit my glasses, HAHA, what do I say? It works nicely, it's not clumpy like the other one I have, so that's a plus, and it deffo made them longer. Otherwise, imma let the pictures do the talking.

Before:
After:

Batiste Dry Shampoo:

I have yet to use this, cos I just showered today, but I can't wait. I've only heard good things about it and if something allows me to put off a shower, HEY, I'm all for that. I reckon I'll do a review once I do use it.

Any good Ulta buys lately, ladies?

Mini Haul + Update

Hey guys!

I haven't blogged for awhile. I was away at my sister's school in Philly for a couple days and blah blah, just haven't gotten around to it.

I have a mini haul from when I went to the Providence Place mall the other day with my friends. I went into Sephora but didn't buy any makeup. I always have to stop myself. x_x I also didn't get any clothing, even though we went into a few places. I just didn't like anything well enough to buy it. I dunno, everything was just kind of lame and I wasn't feeling it. That's prolly a good thing for my bank account. ;) But I did pick up some cute random things.

A passport holder, chopsticks, 2 magnets, and a planner.

We stopped in this store that I wanna call oriental or Asian, LOL, cos that's what they had loads of stuff like that, and since they were closing down, everything was 50% off so I couldn't resist at least getting something. The chopsticks and "I love Bacon" magnet are for my boyfriend and my friend pointed out the coffee magnet cos it's kind of a well known fact in my group that I'm the coffee slut, LOL.

We also stopped in this other store which has such random but awesome stuff, but naturally, I don't know the name of the store. I could find the bag in the trash but I'm not feeling desperate enough. Anyways, I got this really pretty passport holder.

Then finally, in Borders, I grabbed this planner I've been looking at and knew I'd be needing soon for the upcoming / final uni year!

And yeah that's it, not much. =)

I'm going shopping with my mum tomorrow and insisted we go to Ulta so I might have a haul from there. I really want to get some NYX products just cos I've heard great reviews about their stuff but have yet to try anything. Also, I ordered from Model's Own the other day because of their huuuuge sale and I've always wanted their nail polishes so I ordered like all the pastel ones and two eyeshadows!! It's getting delivered to my flat in London though, cos I'll be there in under a week and it's way cheaper. =)

I still have to put up the swatches / looks I did with the e.l.f Smokey Eye Beauty Book but I haven't gotten around to it, been lazy. I have all the photos and stuff I just need to edit them. =)

Anyways yeah, that was just a lil update. How has everyone been!? Excited for fall? Cos it sure feels like it here.

Mini Walmart Haul!

Last night was my sister's last night in town before going back to school, so we all went out for a nice meal. And by nice I mean the 99! Was yummy. Cept for my sissy's poor meal! Hahahaha. We then stopped at Walmart cos my twinnie needed some photo paper. I found an adorable Pug notebook that I grabbed because I love them and me and my boyfriend plan on getting a black pug named Maoam one day! And of course I had to look in the makeup aisle. Maybelline were having a bit of a sale, the lipstick and eyeshadow I got were each on sale for $5. Then finally I needed to pick up some body wash!

I've used this stuff before, over in London, and absolutely love the smell of it and how creamy it is. The smell stays on you after you shower, which is another plus, so yeah, I figured I'd pick it up. It was 6 bucks for a big thing of it and you got a bonus "Quench Advanced Healing Lotion" which I figured I could use on the dry skin I've got on my feet. Gross eh? ;)

HOW CUTE!? I imagine I won't actually use it at uni, I'd feel like a twat, but I can use it to make grocery lists and other "To Do" lists like that.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in "Pink Please":

I got the "Pink Sand" color a couple weeks ago and decided I really wanted a less shimmery and more matte pink, so I picked this up! I REALLLLLY love the color, hehe. I deffo reccomend it!

Maybelline Eye Studio Shadow in"Lawless Lavender":

I think these eyeshadows are soooo pretty, which is the main reason I've been wanting one. I picked this one because I figured it was the most wearable out of the colors they had, even if it's another purple, but brown eyes can never have too many purple shadows! Plus, there's some pink in it which is really pretty. I haven't tried any looks out with it, but I did swatch it on my hand and then put it on my eyes to see what it looks like (without any primer) and it's a really nice shimmery purple/pink. It's not crazy pigmented, but I'm sure it'll show up more with the help of some primer! :D

What about you guys? Any good Walmart buys lately!? I haven't been in foreverrr and the store had actually been redone and looked really nice. It used to be a mess in there, so I was very pleased. There's even a grocery section in there now! =O Lol.

e.l.f Beauty Book: Eye Brights Edition Review

Price: $5

Comes with 12 eyeshadows, 1 eyeliner, and 1 eyeshadow applicator.

I really love this shadow set. I read up on them and instantly wanted them all, because I'm lacking in the eyeshadow department. My love for makeup only just recently came back, haha, so I've slowly been stocking up.

The shadows have great pigmentation, but show up even better with eye primer (duh, huh?). They're very shimmery so there is fallout, but if you try really carefully when applying, it shouldn't be that big of an issue.

There's a lot of light brown colors that seem to all look the same and I confuse them haha, and some of them are repeated in the smokey eye book, I believe, but that's okay. My favorite deffo has to be the green, I've been using it loads.

The eyeliner isn't great so I wouldn't bother with it if I were you.

Here's the swatches (no, I don't know why I switched from using my arm to my hand, LOL, maybe for some pizzazz, who knows):

Some of them are less pigmented than others, but hey, for 5 bucks, I'm not going to complain! (except I guess I just did...)

Here's some looks I tried out using the book:

Left eye:
Right Eye:

A more subtle look:

What do you guys think? What's your luck been with e.l.f products?

Fall Shopping!

The other day I went "back to school" shopping with my twinnie for some new clothes for the fall. I didn't get too much but I did get some essentials that I've been needing for awhile, like bras and jeans! So here's what I got:

Marshalls:

Striped cardigan: $14.99

You can never have too many cardigans and I really love these types of cardigans, the ones that are very light and loose and flowy. =) The gray one I have was featured in my July favorites post.

Old Navy:

Jeans: $19.00

Sweater: $26.50

Old Navy was having a sale on jeans and I desperately required a new pair so I picked up these for only 19 bucks! Not bad. The sweater is a little more pricey than I'd normally pay for a shirt (-cheap-), but I really liked it and it was sooo comfy so I gave in. :D

Forever 21:

Dress Shirt: $19.80

This goes perfect with either leggings or jeans. I really like how simple it is, but it's also flattering to my body type, if I do say so myself, LOL. (curvy! lol). I'm not crazy about the belt, I think I'd like to find a new one to wear with it, cos this one is just a lil....well it reminds me of a seatbelt. LOL. So I reckon I'll just get rid of it.

Target:

Bras: $7.00 and $10.00 (approximately, my mum has the receipt so it's not exact)

Hoodie: $12.00 (again, approximately)

Last stop of the day was Target, cos we had to pick my mum up from work and wanted to do some shopping there cos my mum gets a really good discount. I picked up two bras which I love, they remind me of the Victoria's Secret one I already own but much cheaper in price but essentially the same in quality (AND there's a lil bow in the middle, how cute??). I also grabbed a hoodie since I've kind of grown out of them since my emo stage hahahah but I couldn't help but get this one cos it was so comfy and cute. I figure every girl needs at least one....for those lazy days!

e.l.f eyelid primer: $1

e.l.f concealer brush: $1

I then also grabbed the eyelid primer cos I know I won't be able to afford another Urban Decay one when it runs out and because I heard good things about this one. I got the concealer brush to use in applying eye primer but I dunno, might of been a dumb idea, using my finger is so much easier, hahaha. I haven't tried the eyelid primer yet, but when I do, I reckon I'll do a review post on it. =)

So what about you guys? What have you been picking during your "back to fall" shopping trips!?

Target Haul

Today while looking around online, I discovered the e.l.f Beauty Books and heard nothing but rave reviews about them and knew I HAD to have them, lol. For 5 bucks each, I knew I couldn't go wrong. I also needed some proper eye makeup brushes and I knew Target had some affordable ones. I heard mixed reviews about the Sonia Kashuk brushes so I didn't get them in the end cos they were 9.99 for a travel sized set which was kind of lame cos I wanted full sized ones, so I got some Studio Tools brushes, which were about 2-2.50 each. I'm quite happy with everything I got!

From left to right: eyeliner brush, crease brush, and medium shadow brush. I used them to do some looks tonight and I'm really happy with them. That might be because I've been using q-tips for ages, LOL, but yeah, good stuff:

e.l.f Beauty Book: Eye Brights Edition. I love these colors!! I did two looks with them tonight, but I'm going to do separate review posts for each of these books. =)

e.l.f Beauty Book: Smokey Eye Edition. I haven't swatched / used these yet, but I'm sure they're just as brilliant as the colors above. I really love the look of the silvers!!

In the coming days, I'll have review posts for each separate book with some looks, etc. I'm going to the Cape for a couple of days, but I may do the posts there, so we'll see.

What about you guys? Have you tried the e.l.f Beauty Books? DO YOU LOVE THEM LIKE I DO? Hahahaha.

Blast from the Past: Unknown Palette

Sadly, there's no label or anything on this eyeshadow palette so I have nooo idea where it's from. =( Sowwie, but I am actually pretty happy with it! I made some fun looks with it. For some reason, I've been noticing, that the photos I upload to Blogger turn out far lighter than they really are. Does anyone else get that problem? So anyways, the pictures don't really do the looks justice, so I might start darkening them before uploading them. But anyways! Here's the palette!:

They're not amazing quality eyeshadows, but I do love the fun colors. And they show up pretty well when I do a few applications, and if I had used primer, it might of been even easier. But like I've said before, I'm cheap, and don't wanna waste the stuff. Especially after the videos I've seen of people having to saw open their Urban Decay primer to get the rest out, LOL. Here's the two looks I tried out!:

Aqua Look:

I used the aqua on half my lid and mushroom(?) color on the other half. I then also did the same thing underneath my eye. I then put a bit of the beige color under my brow but you can't really tell.

Funky Look:

I used the orange color on my lid, then the dark green on half of my crease and the lime green on the other half of my crease. Under the brow I used the white color.

What do you guys think? Have you rediscovered any old products of yours and learned to love em again? Lol.

Sunday 8 August 2010

Blast from the Past: The Color Workshop

I tried swatching them but they're so lightly pigmented that it was kind of impossible, HAHA. I achieved this look with the help of Urban Decay Primer and loads and loads of application. Not sure if I'll bother keeping it? What do you guys think?

I put the lightest/white shade under my brow, the darkest blue in my crease, and the baby blue color on my lid.

Didn't search for too long, but I don't know where you'd buy The Color Workshop products these days. Not sure you'd want to anyways. =X There's some products on Amazon but not this specific palette.
